Immanuel Lutheran

East Dundee, IL
#Addition#Remodel#Narthex#Terrace

The congregation wished to preserve their legacy and commitment in the community by keeping and restoring their historic building while adding to the existing structure.

The addition complements the existing building; its massing, material, pattern language, and motifs are all in keeping with the original building’s character. On the interior, an elegant sky lit hall runs parallel with the length of the existing sanctuary, providing interior views of the original stained glass and masonry.

The addition also updates the function of the building to accommodate the church’s growth and ministry goals. Accessible entry points, a dividable fellowship hall, preschool, kitchen, classrooms, restrooms, and offices are all included in the addition. The building’s A/C, lighting, and sprinklers were also retrofitted.
